BOB SEGER MEETS ERIC CLAPTON AT MUDDY WATERS HOUSE!
That might be the best way to describe “Lightnin’ Rod & The Thunderbolts”, a straight ahead blues/rock band from Southeast Michigan. Their music also shows Lightnin’ Rod’s influence from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Howlin’ Wolf, and the Rolling Stones.
Their newest release, “After The Storm”, is already generating interest around the world with positive reviews and airplay. The CD was mastered by Robyn Robins. Robyn was the keyboard player for many years with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Robyn has mastered projects for Van Morrison, U2, and The Bee Gees. He has over 60 gold and platinum albums to his credit.
The band consists of Lightnin’ Rod Wilson on guitar and vocals. Rod has written literally dozens of songs that have been heard on radio stations worldwide. His music has been listened to in approximately 180 countries. His song “Dreamful of Blues” from the CD “All-American Blues” was a number one song on internet blues radio. And then there are the Thunderbolts, a top notch group of professional veteran musicians who have played with the likes of Robert Cray, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Mitch Ryder, Willie Dixon, Clarence Clemons, Crystal Gayle & Sir Mack Rice, just to name a few. The band plays consistantly "in the pocket" to fill the groove of every tune.
The Thunderbolts are a rare commodity of true musicianship lacking in today’s music scene.
